Music at the YMCA

September 2014

Eight middle and high school students attended two concerts at the YMCA. They enjoyed the music, even though it was very different to what they are used to. As part of the enrichment activities at KLASS, we try to introduce our students to a variety of cultural and artistic experiences they are not familiar with.

A tour of the walls

August 2014

During the summer vacation, we took four students for a walking tour of the southern wall of the Old City. We climbed up to the wall at Jaffa Gate and walked towards the area of the Wailing Wall. Along the way we told the students about the battles that had been fought in Jerusalem from biblical times to the present day, we pointed out building and neighborhoods outside the walls and spoke about their construction. From there we continued to the Wailing Wall and talked about its significance. We ended the day with tasty pizza in the Jewish Quarter!

A trip to Omer

September 2014

During the Succot vacation we went to see the exhibition at the Industrial Park in Omer, near Beer Sheva. We visited the exhibition of 3-D photos of Jerusalem, an exhibition of paintings by Israeli artists and, of course, we also walked around the Sculpture Garden. Our girls, who do not have many opportunities to travel outside Jerusalem, really enjoyed the visit and the explanations of the places we passed through on the way.
